This Week in Sports, the week of April 14.
On Tuesday, six sports teams went to battle.
Girls’ soccer took on conference rival, Dallas Center-Grimes at home. Freshman and JV tied, and varsity won 1-0
Boys’ soccer also faced conference rival DCG. The JV lost 7-0, but the varsity won a thriller in double overtime, 1-0.
Girls’ tennis took to the court against Pella Christian. They won 7-4.
The boys’ track team split the team and traveled to Chariton and Pella Christian. The boys at PC were sixth while the boys at Chariton placed first. Individual champions were Cody DeKruyff, Jordan Pingel, and Ben Warner.
The girls’ track team brought home first from Pella Christian. They had 11 first place finishes, 9 second place finishes and third place finishes. The team scored 249 points.

Second: Wisnewski, 100-meter dash; Kelcey Blommers, 1500-meter run; Pingel, 400-meter dash; Abby Fyfe, 3000-meter run; Wisnewski, Jenna Murphy, Holterhaus, Mc Kinstrey, 4 x 100-meter relay; Bogaard, Holterhaus, Murphy, Gustafson, 4 x 200-meter relay; Grace Fisher, Emily Dux, Nicole Schnebbe, Blommers, 4 x 800-meter relay; Kooker, high jump; Marissa Borgerding, shot put.
Girls’ golf finished second at their triangular in Norwalk.
