Elsie Thoreson has participated in track all through high school. Her highlights of track throughout high school were having strong relationships with her teammates and becoming a better runner. “It’s so fun to train around people that have the same goals and mindset as you do,” said Thoreson. After high school, Elsie plans to attend Central College to major in exercise science and run track.
Ellie Howard has played soccer at Pella High since freshman year. Some of Ellie’s highlights in soccer were making it to state sophomore and junior years. Last year her best memories were coming back and beating Norwalk in overtime and beating Louis Central because they were ranked number 1 in the state. Howard plans to attend the University of Iowa to study Broadcast Journalism. She also plans to play club soccer in college, so she can continue playing soccer.
John Oltman has played golf for Pella all through high school. The highlight of John’s golf career was getting to compete against the top golfers in the state at the state golf meet his junior year. He came in 8th place. John plans to attend Central College to study accounting. He is also planning on playing in amateur golf tournaments moving forward and playing golf at Central.
Jordan Roozeboom has participated in boy’s tennis since freshman year. Although his senior tennis season was canceled, he still had some great achievements in the three years he did have. He made team state freshman year and came in 2nd place overall junior year. Jordan plans to go to UNI and major in Manufacturing Engineering and Technology. He wants to continue playing tennis for fun and doing some sort of club tennis in college.
