The Muller Report has been all over the web recently, but many people don’t know what the Mueller Report actually is and why it’s important.

What is the Mueller Report?

The Mueller Report is the report assembled by Special Prosecutor Robert Mueller on whether or not there was collusion between the President of the United States, Donald Trump, and the Russian Government during the 2016 presidential election.

Who is Robert Mueller?

Robert Mueller is the Special Prosecutor assigned to investigate the accusations of collusion.

What is a Special Prosecutor?

A Special Prosecutor is a lawyer appointed by the Attorney General or acting Attorney General to investigate matters when it is in the public’s best interest to have an outside or neutral third party investigate.

Where is the investigation currently?

Mueller has finished his investigation and provided a copy of the report to Attorney General William Barr.  Barr released a summary of the report to the Senate on March 24. Barr’s summary highlighted that there was no collusion found between President Trump and Russia. Although, Mueller’s investigation did indict 34 people, notably Roger Stone, Michael Cohen, and Paul Manafort.

What now?

President Trump and Republicans want to move on from the investigation surrounding the president and call for his exoneration. While Democrats call for the full Mueller Report to be released to the public.
