Valentines Day Recipe

Valentine’s day is that dreaded time of year when everyone scrambles to buy overpriced chocolates and flowers for their loved ones. It’s inevitable! But why join the mob when you can make a simple treat at home along with some memories and good times? This recipe is quick and easy and will mean a lot more to your special person than some generic chocolate box that’s fifteen dollars more than it should be.

Reese’s are a classic treat enjoyed by many, but your person would probably appreciate a homemade, larger version of this product. This recipe makes 20 of these chocolate cups, but feel free to adjust the recipe to fit your needs.

What you’ll need:

  1. ½ cup of smooth peanut butter.
  2. 3 tablespoons of powdered sugar.
  3. 1 tablespoon of sea salt (optional)
  4. 12-ounce bag of your favorite chocolate chips

What to do:

  1. Get yourself a microwave-safe bowl and pour your chocolate chips inside.
  2. Microwave the chocolate chips for 45 seconds, stir, and microwave for another 45 seconds. Continue to stir and microwave for a few seconds at a time until the chocolate is melted. (Or follow microwave instructions on the bag)
  3. Coat the bottom of cupcake liners with the melted chocolate to your liking and place them in the fridge to cool.
  4. Mix the peanut butter and powdered sugar until fully combined.
  5. Roll pieces of the peanut butter into balls and then flatten them into disks. Make one for each cupcake liner.
  6. When the chocolate is cooled, set the peanut butter disks on top.
  7. Pour the remaining chocolate on top of the peanut butter and refrigerate until solid.
  8. Enjoy!
