The Pella Girls’ Track and Field team placed an impressive third at the state meet at Drake. Their sprint medley placed fourth, including junior Jacie Trine, freshman Kamryn Long, and seniors Delaynie Reynolds and Marrissa Hackman.

 “I’m super proud of everyone, and I’ll miss the seniors a lot because they mean the world to me,” said Long. 

There was a record attendance at this meet with lots of people coming out to watch the event. Most seats were filled and there was something special for the seniors.  They graduated on the Blue Oval. Since graduation fell on the same day as state, with a little help from the athletic unions, they were able to celebrate the graduation of the senior athletes. This is the second year in a row this has happened, but it adds a special twist to the ceremony.  

“It didn’t feel real,” said graduate Kylie Tauke.
