Girls Track Coach Dak Rasmussen said, “I don’t think I’ve participated in a windier meet than this one. High winds created a wall going into
turn 3 and around the curve. The long jump benefitted, but that was about it. Sprint handoffs
weren’t very sharp in part because of the wind and the times, obviously, were high because of
the conditions. On the positive side, we ran pretty tough in the wind and finished well in most of
the events we participated in. As an early bird meet it was nonscoring (but if it was we would
have won by over 30 points), and provided a nice chance for everyone to compete.
