Shoes are a very popular item of clothing in today’s day and age. Some people like to wear slides because they are comfortable and easy. Others like tennis shoes because they are constantly moving throughout the day. But some people like to wear shoes for their style. There is one person at Pella High who does this the best.
Geoffrey Buchanan is known for having some of the best shoe game at Pella High School. His passion for shoes started when the coaching staff for basketball all wore matching shoes to the games. Ever since, he has expressed his drip throughout the halls and has built a pretty big reputation with his massive collection of 85 pairs of shoes.
He doesn’t just wear whichever shoes he pleases whenever he pleases. When you have as big a shoes game as Buchanan, you need to stay on a tight schedule. On Fridays he’ll wear his Nike Dunks to school, but when it’s game time, he switches into a pair of green and white Air Max’s.
It’s hard to have a big collection without having a favorite shoe. The basketball coaches all got a pair of green Jordan fours a few years back. He said that those made the top of his list. Another thing that comes with a big collection is some least favorites and some regrets. However, Buck is a man of no regrets…when it comes to shoes.
“No regrets,” said Buchanan “Live life, be proud of your decisions, and if you aren’t then remedy them in the future with no regrets.”
Buchanan doesn’t stop at just 85 pairs of shoes though. He still continues to expand his impressive collection. Some people browse the internet for a pair of shoes they really desire, but not him.
“The next pair…I don’t even try. I’m just scrolling and those stinkin’ algorithms get me on Google and I just end up buying a pair. I’m usually like, ‘I don’t need these,’ but then I quickly talk myself into it and I’m like, ‘yes I do, because I did well in school today and I deserve it.’”
