Avengers: Endgame Review

Avengers%3A+Endgame+Review

Even though Endgame has been out for awhile, it is still definitely worth seeing. To say that Endgame was a rollercoaster would be an understatement. One minute I was laughing, the next I was crying.  I wish I could watch it for the first time again. A lot of my thoughts on the movie would spoil it, so I’ll try to keep my opinions pretty general just in case you haven’t seen it, and my review proves capable of convincing you to do so. That being said, you should definitely see it. It’s awesome.

I’ll abstain from describing too much about the plot to keep away from spoiler territory, but trust me when I say that you’ll be on the edge of your seat. Here’s the premise of the film: after wiping out exactly half of all living creatures (including half of the Avengers), Thanos, the big, purple, and frequently meme-d antagonist, disappears. It’s up to the remaining Avengers to bring everyone back.

Regardless of whether you’re a comic book aficionado or a new fan, you’ll love Endgame. I am by no means a Marvel or superhero geek, in fact I haven’t seen about half of the Marvel movies. Still, I loved it.You definitely don’t have to know the background of every character, or even most characters, to enjoy this movie. There are a lot of cool moments and callbacks that more seasoned fans will appreciate as well, but you don’t need to get every reference to enjoy the film. It’s the best of both worlds.

The biggest reason that I would encourage everyone to see Endgame is because of its cultural significance. I have always wondered what it would have been like to see Indiana Jones, Star Wars, or Ghostbusters in theatres when they were first released. These movies have become essential parts of pop culture, and I’d kill for the opportunity to be one of the first people to have watched them. I think that’s the kind of movie Endgame will be someday. Right now, we have an awesome chance to experience something that I suspect will influence pop culture, and cinema, in a big way. It’s worth seeing for sure. Just make sure you don’t purchase a large drink. Three hours is a long time to hold it, and there aren’t any good times to duck out for a bathroom break.
