I have a lot of memories of me, Caiden, and all of our friends sitting on the picnic table and talking at recess. My last memory was eating lunch with him and talking about one of our favorite TV show. Caiden was a very hilarious, bubbly guy who could make any of us smile even if we were in a bad mood. Anyone who remembers him will know that he had a CONTAGIOUS laugh. We called him Marshmallow The Pudgy Warrior and my favorite nickname for him was Caider Tot. He was so goofy, always had a good attitude, and very fun to be around. -Braelyn Ensor

I think the most influential memory I had of Caiden was in 1st grade. It was recess and I didn’t really have any friends so I was sitting against the wall by the doors watching the other kids play. As I looked out I saw a kid walking towards me. He was giving me a bright smile. He sat next to me and asked what my name was. We ended up just talking all recess. We were both very interested in LEGO at the time, so we primarily talked about our favorite sets that we had and big expensive ones we would have wanted. He made me feel seen and gave me a friend. -Ryder Bates

I remember Caiden being one of my first friends at Madison back in Kindergarten, which makes sense seeing how joyful and accepting of a person he was. Caiden was always a friend you could depend on, he could make you smile on any bad day no matter the situation. While our friendship became more distant as the years went on, I remember having a couple class projects together and he never failed to make me smile. Fly High Caiden! Treyton Turnbull

I have no specific memory of Caiden but I can remember the countless day of talking having fun on the bus rides to school. -Wyatt De Jong

One memory of Caiden I have is one time he was spending the night at my house and a thunderstorm came. We were up most of the night watching movies and a thunderstorm came by my house. It was around 2-2:30 when the power started to go out. I was trying to sleep on a chair and he was on my couch. He was getting scared when the power went out and shrieked a little when lightning struck. He asked me to come over and sleep by him. I told him “You’ll be fine” but I knew that he was afraid of the dark. I gave up on keeping my spot and went over to him. The storm seemed to end after that a bit. Only some small showers were able to be heard. But Caiden put his head on my lap and used it like a pillow. It felt safe. I’m scared of thunder and lightning too but something about him on my thigh and me being close to him felt safe to me. Tucker De Jong
