(Jr. Emma Johnson serves in the girls tennis meet against Knoxville)

This Week in sports for the week of April 21.

Last Thursday:

Girls Track placed first at Newton last thursday. Becky  Visser, Lexi Reynolds, and Jessica Holterhaus qualified for the Drake Relays in individual events while the 4×100, 4×200, 4×400, Shuttle Hurdle and Sprint Medley relays also qualified to compete on the blue oval.

Boys Track placed 3rd at Waukee against almost all 4A competition. The boys team qualified Garret Jansen and Jordan Pingel in individual events and Derrick Akers, Nathan Henry, Lukas Steenhoek and Jordan Pingel in the Medley Relay for the Drake Relays.

Boys Tennis defeated North Polk

Last Weekend:

Boys Golf had three meets over the weekend. A solid performance at PCM had Sean Rennich as meet medalist and Corey Elliot as runner up. On Friday they won a 5 team invite at Bondurant Farrar. Then on Saturday the team won the Invite in Knoxville. The team had Corey Elliot as meet medalist and Sean Rennich as runner up.

The boys tennis team swept the singles and doubles draws at Knoxville on Saturday. 1st place singles: Jamison Roozeboom; 2nd place singles: Tom Pettit; 1st place doubles: Tom Palmer and Aaron Van Maanan; 2nd place doubles: Sam Dykstra and Colin Jones.

The girls tennis team finished 4th in the Indianola tournament last Friday against 4A schools. Sami Wassenaar and Bri Buzick got 2nd place in #1 Doubles; Molly Kalkwarf and Alli Dingeman got 1st place in #2 Doubles; and Lauren Kriegel and Anna Jaarsma got 2nd place in #3 Doubles

Monday:

Girls Golf placed 2nd at the Knoxville Triangular with Camille Henry as the runner up.

Boys JV Golf placed 2nd out of 7 teams. Trevor Argo was runner up.

The girls track team won 15 of 19 events to claim the team trophy. The night was highlighted by Jessica Holterhaus breaking the 25 year old school record in the Long Jump with a leap of 18 feet 1/2 inches.

The boys track team placed 5th at Norwalk against tough 4A schools.

Tuesday:

The JV boys track team placed 6th at BGM

Boys Soccer defeated Grinnell 4-2 and JV lost 2-4

Girls Soccer suffered their first loss of the season to Grinnell 0-2 and JV won 2-0

Girls Tennis defeated Knoxville 8-3

Boys Golf won their triangular against Grinnell and Oskaloosa with Sean Rennich being meet medalist and Corey Elliott being runner up. JV Boys golf also won with Trevor Argo as meet medalist.

Girls Golf placed 3rd in their triangular in a close meet with Ottumwa and Washington. Camille Henry got runner up.

Boys tennis defeated Knoxville in a shut out 11-0

Thursday:

Boys Soccer defeated Gilbert 2-0 and JV tied

Good luck track runners at Drake today.
